Built in the 50s, The Rock was originally a Mercury Boat Dealer before being transformed into the Shamrock Lounge in the 60s. The Rock is proud to be open 365 days a year, hurricanes be damned.

April 17, 1998 – Bought and operated by Peter and Katie Zuccaro, who kept the name but added nightly live entertainment to the lounge, and began to host a popular variety of special fundraisers and bike runs.  Peter and Katie love the community, its people and the many friends they’ve acquired while operating The Rock.

The Owners
Peter and Katie Zuccaro moved to Leesburg from Miami in early 1998.  Peter is originally from Sauquoit, a small town near Utica in upstate New York.  Katie was born and raised in Miami.

After graduating high school, Peter proudly served four years as a radar man in the United States Navy.  After his service he returned to Sauquoit and took over his father’s company, PZ Mason Contractors, which he ran until 1979.  That same year he moved to Miami and started Patios by Peter, Inc., a patio renovation construction business that he operated until 1998.  Peter still holds a Florida State Contractors License.

After graduating high school, Katie went on to the University of Florida, graduating with a B.S. degree in Public Relations and Marketing.  Katie worked for her parents’ Miami-based typesetting and printing business until 1985, when she shifted her attention to the advertising business as VP of a Chicago-based studio.  Her experience there allowed her to start her own full-service catalog photography studio, Wien Murray Studio, Inc., which she owned and operated from 1990-1998.

Peter and Katie have three married children and four grandchildren.

In their spare time Peter and Katie enjoy family, friends, fine dining, boating, traveling and sports such as NASCAR.  (They are both Jeff Gordon Fans!)
